New padmount lead times have stretched past 12 months for many ratings, which sends contractors and utilities straight to the secondary market. Three-phase loop-feed units from 300 kVA to 2500 kVA are the hottest tickets, but everything from 25 kVA single-phase up moves.
Reading the Nameplate
Value keys on kVA rating, primary voltage (12470V and 13200V are the most universal), secondary voltage (208Y/120 and 480Y/277 dominate), and feed configuration. A nameplate photo answers all of it — which is why we never need testing to make an offer.
Oil Condition and PCBs
Units manufactured after 1979 are PCB-free by law and sell freely. Older units may need an oil test for PCBs before resale, but that is our problem, not yours — we buy on photos and handle any sampling after purchase. Do not let oil questions stop you from getting an offer.
Selling Yours
